TWO QUEENS: Ode to Romare Bearden

Amani Lewis tributes cherished members of their personal communities with intimate portraits that champion social change.

  

An edition of 70 archival pigment prints on 310gsm Hahnemuhle Photo Rag paper, TWO QUEENS: Ode to Romare Bearden typifies Amani’s bold, richly layered approach to portraiture. Each piece is finished by hand with neon, metallic and sparkling screenprint layers.

 

During lockdown, Amani began collaborating with different photographers to create original works inspired by their images. This is one of those works, based on a photograph by Maryland based photographer, Chino.

  

The reverse of each print is signed, dated and numbered by the artist.

The edition can be ordered float-mounted in a solid wood frame, painted matt black, for a supplementary cost of €270.
